1. Educational Purpose & Disclaimer

MCQify is an offline-first educational productivity tool designed for importing, organizing, practicing, annotating, exporting, and backing up multiple-choice question (MCQ) materials. MCQify does not sell, own, or claim copyright over question banks, explanations, images, or study files created, imported, exported, or shared by users.

The app is provided as a utility tool for learners, teachers, and medical professionals to manage their study workflows.

2. Content Ownership & User Responsibility

Users maintain full ownership and sole responsibility for all educational materials they import, create, edit, export, or share through MCQify. Users must ensure they possess the necessary legal authority, permissions, or licenses required to handle, export, or distribute any study material or question bank.

MCQify and its developers are not liable for user-generated or user-imported content, user file sharing outside the app, or any copyright infringement committed by users.

3. Acceptable Use & Conduct

When using MCQify, you agree NOT to:

• Use the application or cloud services for illegal, abusive, or unauthorized purposes.
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful scripts to cloud sync features.
• Attempt to breach security measures, bypass role permissions, or access cloud backup data belonging to other users.
• Violate institutional, academic, or professional confidentiality rules.

4. User Roles & Subscriptions

MCQify may feature role-based access controls (e.g., Student, Package Subscriber, Teacher, Supervisor, Manager, Administrator). Features available to each user depend on their assigned role or active access package. System administrators reserve the right to modify access or terminate accounts violating these terms.

5. Limitation of Liability

MCQify is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While we employ robust database backup and security protocols, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted cloud synchronization or zero data loss on user devices. Users are encouraged to maintain local backups of critical study materials.

6. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to deliver offline-first functionality and secure cloud backup features:

• Account Data: Email address, display name, profile photo URL, sign-in provider (Email/Password or Google), and user ID.
• Academic Profile Details: Optional phone number, specialty, institution/university, and study goal provided voluntarily by the user.
• Study Progress & Backup Data: Starred questions, progress records, test scores, notes, text highlights, comments, and comment images.
• Local Files: Question banks, PDFs, ZIP archives, and exported packages remain stored locally on your device unless explicitly shared.
• Technical & System Data: App version, device identifiers, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens for notifications, and crash error logs.

7. How We Use Data

• To authenticate your identity and protect personal cloud backup space.
• To synchronize study progress, notes, highlights, and comments across your personal devices.
• To deliver role-based features and manage subscription access.
• To send important educational alerts, exam updates, or service notices via FCM notifications.
• To maintain app security, prevent abuse, and resolve technical issues.

8. Offline-First Design & Local Storage

MCQify prioritizes local storage (SQLite and local file storage). All imported question banks, local notes, and exam databases remain functional without an active internet connection. Cloud sync operates as an enhancement to protect lightweight user progress.

9. Cloud Infrastructure & Security Rules

Cloud synchronization relies on Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Storage. Security rules restrict database access so authenticated users can read and write only their own user-scoped backup records.

10. Data Retention & Account Deletion

Your local data remains on your device until manually deleted or uninstalled. Cloud backup data persists as long as your account remains active. You have full control over your cloud data and can delete specific records or request complete account erasure at any time.

11. Notifications

Optional push notifications are delivered via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for study reminders, teacher announcements, and account security updates. You can toggle notification permissions anytime through your device settings.

12. Changes to Terms & Policy

We may update these Terms & Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new app features, store policy requirements, or legal regulations. Continued use of MCQify after updates constitutes acceptance of the modified policy.
